Tracing back as early as 6th century B.C., teeth embellishment, now known as “teeth grillz,” have been a statement jewelry piece. Although in the past, these golden and diamond teeth grillz have been used as a representation of one’s status, it is now used as a mainstream accessory. As seen in 21st century pop culture, teeth grillz serve as a visual statement and a means of self-expression. They transcend traditional boundaries, allowing individuals to experiment with their appearance, subvert norms, and convey a sense of individuality and rebellion. The act of wearing grillz can be viewed as an artistic performance, transforming one's teeth into a canvas for individuality. By utilizing digital art as my medium for this piece, I attempted to portray our younger generation’s unique way of artistic expression.Procreate, Photoshop
