Food-Tree (2021)

This project began as a color study of my favorite color, forest green, the color of nature and birth. I painted the color on canvases of various shapes and sizes in order to observe the change of my perception along with the changes in the canvas. However, as I placed the canvases together, it reminded me of a family tree as well as a collection of dishes. This prompted me to project clips of my favorite meals and moments I’ve shared with family and friends. I organically built upon this project step by step, carefully analyzing what sort of directions I am drawn to.
